Over 198 Countries Participate at World Water Week

STOCKHOLM. World Water Week, the annual conference that brings together experts, researchers, and decision-makers from around the world to discuss and find solutions to global water issues, took place at the end of August. Thanks to an innovative hybrid solution, the event reached thousands of participants joining both in Stockholm and digitally from all corners of the globe.

For many organizations, the global stage is always enticing, and the million-dollar question is how to maximize the reach of their events. Whether it's a product launch or a conference, the challenge remains the same. SIWI, the organizer of World Water Week, has truly cracked the code, reaching participants from 198 countries and over 12,000 people choosing to join digitally. By offering participants the option to log in from their home offices, overcoming barriers of time zones and financial constraints, the event was able to reach far more people than a purely physical event ever could. With over 300 sessions to choose from, there was always something to watch and engage with, whether you were on-site or in front of a computer.

One Platform. All Broadcasts.

During World Water Week 2024, Trippus’ platform was at the heart of all digital broadcasts. With participants spread across the globe, it was crucial to create a user experience that was not only seamless but also intuitive and accessible, no matter where they were.

Trippus’ platform enabled participants to easily connect, navigate between different sessions, and access both live and pre-recorded broadcasts. Everything was gathered in one place, meaning no one had to search for links or risk missing important discussions. Whether following a panel discussion in real time or watching a recording later, it was easy to find and participate.

Participants could also create their own schedule by bookmarking sessions. Additionally, a smooth filtering solution was implemented to facilitate navigation between the different themes and times. One of the significant advantages of the digital broadcast platform is that all participants have access to all the materials afterward. For the organizers, this means that World Water Week continues to live on long after the event has ended—something many strive for.

However, we didn’t do everything on our own. We partnered with our friends at Adapt to assist with the broadcasts. Adapt’s fantastic team on-site was responsible for the live broadcasts directly from the Waterfront venue, which were then streamed via Trippus’ platform. Together with Adapt, we will be organizing a webinar to delve into the hybrid solutions of World Water Week—and their positive effects.

Trippus On-site

At Stockholm Waterfront, the more than 2,000 physical attendees were treated to an experience they won’t soon forget. At the entrance, they were warmly welcomed by our wonderful staff, who scanned their digital tickets and printed their personalized name badges. In addition to engaging lectures and passionate speakers, several exhibitors were also on-site to interact with the visitors. For particularly interesting conversations, exhibitors could scan attendees' name badges to gain access to their contact information, greatly simplifying follow-up work for booth staff.

Various awards were also handed out on-site, including the prestigious Stockholm Water Prize, presented by representatives from the Royal Family.

Julia Lundevall, the project manager responsible at Trippus, is pleased with the outcome:

"We are proud to assist with such an important event as World Water Week. It’s incredibly rewarding that we can reach so many who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to participate through this hybrid solution."
